Well as we have all experienced the April weather Gods have not been too kind to us with only a couple of good days open to our clients but on the days we operated, it was great to see such a turn out of enthusiastic volunteers there to serve our clients.

During the month we had a BBQ Sunday fund raising at Bunnings with again a great turn out of our members to support this fund raiser. Thanks to all involved. These days are an important addition to our revenue so whenever the call goes out for volunteers please be mindful of this, besides it’s fun for those that get involved.

We also put on a sausage sizzle during the month for our members as a small thank you for what they do which was well attended.

The Committee have been working towards setting up a new training regime to ensure that we are all up to scratch and that any new volunteers are appropriately trained to participate in the various areas that makes the SailabilityGC function so efficiently. This is a “work in progress” function so if you have any questions feel free to ask any of our Committee.

Thanks to our new Social Co-ordinator we now have a Trivia night and a Barefoot Bowls afternoon planned during May and June so we can all get out and have some fun with our partners.

Many may not be aware that SailabilityGC is an entirely volunteer based charity providing opportunities for all people to be able to enjoy the pleasures that sailing or a trip on our pontoon boat can bring. So if you think that coming and volunteering is difficult believe me it is not. Check out our website www.sailabilitygc.org to get a better understanding then contact us to come and check it out. It is one of the best decisions you can ever make.

So that’s it from The Captain’s Table for this month and I wish you all happy and safe sailing with the wind constantly in your sails.

Take care and we look forward to seeing you soon.
