From the Captain’s Desk – June 2025

Ahoy to you all and thanks to those that have been braving some of those icey winds so that we can do what we do best. The Barefoot Bowls night went well and to those that have not been to any of our social functions please come along and join the fun and camaraderie. I was reading an article recently on The Qualities that Make a Great Volunteer. The two stand outs are Energy and Passion. Great volunteers hit the ground running. They are fantastic people to work with as they exude energy and approach al tasks with enthusiasm and drive. Their positive spirit is motivating and inspiring to others. From the Captains Desk – March 2025

Ahoy there sailors.  Well the year started off for us being very busy. As well as our normal activities entertaining some 264 clients on the water during February, we conducted a special day for The Aphasia Society. This is a society formed to assist stroke victims with the inability to comprehend and formulate language. We attended to 40 members and their Carers and then joined them all for lunch and a chat. It was a great success and many of them had been sailors in the past but due to their conditions had not been out on the water, with many of them declaring they would be back. March [...]
